RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Teach graduate courses in the areas of P-12 educational policy, leadership and administration
  • Maintain a rigorous program of scholarly work related to the Educational Leadership program's credential and graduate degree programs
  • Engage in graduate-level teaching, advising, and curriculum development/assessment
  • Work collegially with faculty
  • Participate in university and community engagement which involves a background in instructional leadership, systems change, organizational development, or educational policy
  • Assist with student recruitment efforts and admissions process
  • Supervise administrative credential students in field experiences
  • Advise and mentor graduate students in courses and CalAPA completion
  • Actively engage in research that has local, regional, and national impact
  • Work collaboratively with public/private schools as well as regional, state and national education agencies/professional organizations
  • Provide service to the college, university professional associations and discipline-related community partners

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Earned doctorate in Education with emphasis in educational leadership and administration or closely related field. ABD candidates will be considered. If ABD, candidates will be required to complete the doctorate by August 2022
  • Administrative experience in K-12 or higher education
  • Major specialization in one or more of the following areas:
  • School and district leadership to support social justice, equity, diversity and a culture of success for all children;
  • Leadership and the process of learning/cognition among children and adolescents;
  • Organizational development and school improvement; and educational policy, leadership and administration
    • PK-12 administration experience
    • Experience working effectively in an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community

    DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Experience in working with students with disabilities
    • Bilingual: Spanish
    • Experience working with California Commission on Teacher Credentialing
    • Established track record of extramural research funding
    • A strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals commensurate with rank

    There are components of this job which are deemed essential on campus. This position will primarily work on the main campus, with occasional work from home. This position requires working on campus with students. The health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff remain our highest priority. In the fall, students, faculty, staff, and the community can expect that masks will be required and that the appropriate degree of social distancing will be in place in all areas based on evolving guidance. Additionally, all students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to be vaccinated before coming to campus. All community members who work or attend class on campus should expect to participate in a random or periodic testing system. CSUMB will communicate more information about vaccination requirements and testing protocols when the details become available.
