Position Title Programmer Working Title Programmer III Department 700140-Application Systems Pay Rate $4,000/monthly FTE 1.0 FLSA Exempt Position Number 999697 Classification CJS14 Special Instructions to Applicants:
This is a full-time benefits-eligible position. Benefits include competitive salary; health, dental, vision, life insurance, AD & D, long-term disability; 3 weeks paid vacation per year; 3 weeks of accrued sick leave per year; 13 paid holidays; retirement; and generous education assistance for an employee, spouse and dependent children taking classes at UCM .

Under the supervisor of the supervising manager, the Programmer III plays a role in troubleshooting issues with software and hardware applications assigned functional areas of responsibility. Understanding the functional processes of the assigned areas is key to the success of this role.
1. Designs, codes, tests, modifies, documents, and implements computer programs and scripts to support complex business processes. Competent to work at the highest level of applications programming using most products in use at the University to implement and maintain application programs.
2. Modifies existing programs as requests.
3. Tests, documents and installs programs and implements procedures for their use.
4. Designs report layouts and user interfaces as required.
5. Learns new computer applications, programming techniques, and/or computer languages. Education & Formal Training Bachelor's degree (Specify field(s) of study below), Education/Experience substitution (specify) Other Education & Formal Training
-Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related field required.
-Education may be substituted for experience or experience may be substituted for education based on the following: AA = 2 years experience; BA/BS = 4 years experience; MA/MS = 6 years experience Computer Skills Word-Processing, Spreadsheet, Desktop Publishing, Other - Working knowledge of system development and database management systems. Experience
Three years total experience coding computer software applications using scripted language. ( SQL, PL/ SQL )
Experience using relational databases, Java, PHP, HTML, Coldfusion, and other currently installed products preferred.
Experience working directly with users.
Other Experience Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements of Position: Criminal History check, Fingerprinting Other Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements Special Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge: Attention to detail, Communication skills, including oral, written, and/or nonverbal, Human Relations/Interpersonal skills, Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines, Maintain confidentiality Other Special Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
Mental skills, including concentration, memory, complex decision making, analytical thinking, and/or conceptual thinking.
Desire and ability to learn and implement new methods and procedures. Specify sensory abilities: Physical & Environmental Factors: Other Physical & Environmental Factors Lifting weight Special Working Conditions: On call/standby work required, Irregular work hours, Professional appearance, Work in stressful conditions Other Special Working Conditions
Available for evening/weekend program/system testing.
