The Department of Residence Life and Housing at the State University of New York at Cortland invites applications for temporary full-time or temporary part-time positions to serve as assistant quarantine and isolation coordinator. Although, full-time availability is preferred; candidates that are only available on a part-time basis may also be considered.

Typical shift is Monday-Friday during standard business hours but, may require some evenings and weekends as needed. Major Responsibilities
  • Assist the Quarantine and Isolation (Q/I) Coordinator with the following areas:
    • Q/I information intake
    • Facilities Operations/Custodial Staff Group
    • Food Service Group
    • Support Runners
  • Coordinate student check-in and check-out process for quarantine and isolation buildings including the coordination of transportation
  • Coordinate meal ordering and delivery with Dining Services ( ASC )
  • Manage educational materials for student support (meal forms, mail services, contact numbers for campus services, etc.)
  • Field general questions regarding Q/I, seeking correct information from campus authorities, sharing pre-approved messages/Q&A responses as developed by the campus
  • Make referrals to campus and community agencies when appropriate
  • Encourage student involvement and their programming efforts
  • Act as an advocate for students by communicating their concerns and issues to the appropriate agency
  • Interpret and enforce University and residence hall policies and procedures
  • Assist with the daily operation and organization of the area and the area office
  • Assist in promoting the safety and security of residents
  • Assist in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with Residence Life and Housing, ASC, University Police, Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, etc.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to students and the quality of their life in the residence hall environment
  • Demonstrate a commitment to human relations/diversity/social justice issues
Functional and Supervisory Relationships
This position reports directly to the Q/I Coordinator. Required Qualifications
  • Evidence of commitment to student success, diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in areas such as medical/ health services; emergency management; or residence life and housing is preferred.
