Tenure-Track Assistant Professor (3 posts)

Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Assistant Professor (3 posts) in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration (Ref.: 508228), to commence on August 1, 2022, or as soon as possible thereafter, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.

The Department values diverse research methodologies and focuses. We are particularly keen to form a leading-edge team for quantitative research methods. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in social work or a related field and have a strong record of research and publications. We welcome all social work and human services research areas, and preference will be given to those with expertise in advanced quantitative social sciences research methods, mental wellness or social policy, and five years of direct social work practice experience. The appointee is expected to be research active and responsible for teaching courses, supervising students at both graduate and undergraduate levels, and contributing to the administration of academic programmes.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At the current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of the basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
