Position Purpose: The Programmer Analyst II supports the ERP and applications that interface with the ERP. Our current administrative system is the Ellucian Colleague ERP. The requirements of this position include providing business and system analysis, computer programming support, training, testing, and documentation. The Programmer Analyst II position can be remote.

  • Essential Job Functions:

  • Work closely with the users to analyze, design, and develop processes and procedures to fulfill user and system requirements. This includes writing detailed and accurate requirements, programming, testing, training, and documenting.
  • Take ownership and responsibility of functional areas where you are the primary support, becoming extremely knowledgeable of the associated processes and procedures.
  • Provide support and training to end users of the administrative computing system and applications that interface with it.
  • Continuously evaluate workflows and processes to provide more efficient and automated processes and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve system and software problems.
  • Support the implementation of software updates in a timely manner.
  • Evaluate and perform internal system process improvements and system cleanup.
  • Provide complete and accurate documentation for internal use and for end users.
  • Actively participate as a member of the team in project initiatives and decision-making.
  • Perform project leadership for focused process improvements.
  • Draw on relationship and technical skills to act as technical liaison to internal and external clients and to mentor junior staff.


  • Essential Job Requirements:

    Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required. A degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field preferred.
    Experience:
    • Minimum of three years of experience programming in a higher education ERP, preferably Colleague.
    Skills:
    • Proficient programming in the Envision language using Colleague Studio demonstrating strong analytical and logic skills. Code efficiently adhering to established programming standards.
    • Extremely knowledgeable of the ERP applications including understanding the software, the file and field structure, and the associated business processes
    • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills including the ability to convey technical information in a meaningful and understandable way.
    • Well organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently and to handle multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
    • Quick learner who can adapt to programming in multiple platforms and technologies.

    • Experience with C#, Visual Studio, HTML/XML/XSLT, CSS, Javascript.
    • Expertise with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Active interest in professional development and skill enhancement to stay up-to-date with new technologies.
