Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for a full-time Professor for the Master of Science in Applied Exercise Science (AES) Program. Specifically, the program is seeking a candidate to teach within our new Exercise Physiology concentration.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  1. Primary responsibility includes teaching 24 credit hours in the AES program each year
  2. Assist in the design and accreditation of our new Exercise Physiology concentration
  3. Responsible for maintaining a courses' curriculum including but not limited to:
    1. Updating required and recommended readings
    2. Updating syllabi
    3. Updating course content
    4. Completing annual assessment map
  4. Additional responsibilities include:
    1. Serving on dissertation committees
    2. Grading comprehensive examinations
  5. Service to the program, department, college, university, profession, and community is expected
  6. Other duties as assigned by the Program Director and/or Chair
  7. Candidates must be committed to the mission and identity of Concordia University Chicago. Additionally, they must profess values congruent with the teachings of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS).

Skill Sets:

  • Experience with learning management systems, preferably Blackboard
  • Experience with online pedagogy
  • Proficient with lecture recording to aid in online education
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Superior communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Enthusiastic supporter of Lutheran higher education and Concordia University Chicago

 

Minimum Experience Required:

Teaching online for a Higher Education program

 

Education Requirements:

  • PhD in Exercise Science or related field
  • American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Certified Exercise Physiologist [or ACSM Clinical Exercise Physiologist]
  • Undergraduate certification or colloquy completion as a professional church worker in the LCMS is preferred.
