Established in 1887 as a school for the education of American
Indians, The University of North Carolina at Pembroke serves a

The position is a tenure track, full-time, 12 month faculty
appointment. The Chair reports to the Associate Dean of the College
of Health Sciences who is the Chief Nursing Officer. Teach
two-courses per semester; with assistance of program directors
oversee all administrative aspects of the academic programs,
including faculty assignments; supervision and evaluation of
faculty and staff; coordination of student admissions, recruitment,
advisement, and retention activities. The chair will work closely
with the chief nursing officer and program directors to coordinate
accreditation reports, including working to meet all standards
established by CCNE and the North Carolina Board of
Nursing; provide leadership to faculty by facilitating their
development in teaching effectiveness, scholarship and
service.
Minimum Training and Experience Requirements: All Candidates must hold a minimum of a doctorate in nursing or in a related field plus a master’s degree in nursing from appropriately accredited institution; 5 years university teaching experience in nursing; three years administrative experience; three years, or the equivalent, full-time clinical experience as a professional nurse.
Management Preferences: PhD preferred.
Licenses and Certifications: Unrestricted RN license in the State of North Carolina.
