Job SummaryThe J. Whitney Bunting College of Business at Georgia College & State University, with programs of study accredited by AACSB and ABET, invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Management beginning August 2022. Candidates with terminal degrees and disciplinary background(s) in Operations Management, Business Analytics, Business Statistics, or a related field are encouraged to apply. The faculty member, in this 10-month tenure-track position, will teach courses in primarily operations management, business/data analytics, quantitative methods, and business statistics. The Department of Management, Marketing, and Logistics offers academic programs of study including management and marketing with concentrations in logistics, human resource management, and sales. The Department also offers a nationally ranked graduate program in Logistics and Supply Chain Management and our faculty contribute to the highly successful Georgia WebMBA® program.

Faculty at Georgia College are teacher-scholars and engaged
university citizens. All Georgia College faculty share the
responsibility of teaching our core curriculum and providing
foundation courses for majors and non-majors alike. To carry out
our public liberal arts mission, we seek faculty with the desire
and ability to engage students as they launch their intellectual
journey. In addition to teaching in field by providing foundation
courses for majors and non-majors alike, all Georgia College
faculty share the responsibility of teaching our core university
core curriculum by teaching topical freshman (GC1Y) or sophomore
seminar (GC2Y) courses.
Faculty are also expected to develop and demonstrate knowledge of
current philosophies, practices, and theories related to the
academic discipline.
Research -
Faculty must conduct research and develop within the profession
including peer-reviewed scholarly publications, presentations at
academic/professional meetings, and engage in other scholarly
activities to continually meet our AACSB faculty qualifications
policy.

Educational Requirements
Qualified candidates for tenure-track position as Assistant
Professor must have a terminal degree with an emphasis in
Operations Management, Business Analytics, Business Statistics, or
related fields and identify as a teacher-scholar committed to the
public liberal arts. Doctoral student applicants in
All-but-Dissertation (ABD) status will be considered, but must
provide evidence of anticipated successful completion of degree
requirements by date of appointment.
Must meet SACSCOC accreditation requirements stated in C.S.
3.7.1 (www.sacscoc.org (faculty credentials))
Other Required Qualifications
Other required qualifications include:
Understanding of the principles associated with teaching and
learning;
Successful higher education teaching experience at the
undergraduate level within the candidate's area of specialization
including strategic marketing, sales, sports marketing, and other
core marketing courses; experience teaching at the graduate level
would be considered;
Strong communication skills;
A passion for working with and mentoring students;
Demonstrable ability to work collegiality and effectively with
individuals of diverse backgrounds. In keeping with the
