Assistant Vice President of Alumni Engagement

Michigan Technological University is looking for a dynamic, alumni-centric professional to serve as an on-campus spokesperson for 82,000 living alumni and lead the effort to create and sustain strong value connections for alumni and friends across the state, country, and world.

The Assistant Vice President of Alumni Engagement provides strategy and leadership to develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive program to provide meaningful opportunities and experiences for alumni including volunteerism, service, personal and professional development, events, and programs designed to enhance the loyalty, dedication, and support of alumni for Michigan Tech. 

The Assistant Vice President of Alumni Engagement will be responsible for leading alumni engagement programming on campus and in regional locations across the country. Travel will consist of visits with Michigan Tech alumni and friends, providing them with campus updates while evaluating the individuals’ ability and propensity to support the University. This position engages alumni and friends to actively contribute back to the University through philanthropic support, share in the life of the University and with each other, and make connections with current students. The ideal candidate develops and maintains cooperative and collaborative relationships with University units such as admissions, career services, athletics, student affairs, and academic colleges and departments. Michigan Tech is located in Michigan’s beautiful Upper Peninsula, home to national parks, abundant waterfalls, dense pine forests and is just a few miles from Lake Superior. Houghton has been listed as one of the "100 Best Small Towns in America" and is a year-round recreational playground that  includes University-owned golf course, ski hill, and biking and hiking trails.
