The School of Business at the University of Washington Bothell invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor in Finance effective September 16, 2022. This is a full-time position with a 9-month service period and not tenure eligible. The position requires the teaching of eight courses over three academic quarters – Autumn, Winter, Spring. Additional opportunities to teach may be available based on school need. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a variety of Finance courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and be willing to provide service to the university, the business school, and the community. They will teach at both the Bothell and Bellevue locations of the Business school.  Typical teaching assignments include courses like Financial Institutions, Investments, International Finance, and/or Advanced Valuation. Candidates who are interested in research will have access to databases such as CRSP, Compustat, and others provided through WRDS. We offer multi-year contracts and salary is competitive.

Located in the heart of the Puget Sound region, the University of Washington Bothell is one of the most dynamic public universities in the state of Washington. The School of Business is well known for its undergraduate, MBA and MS Accounting programs. We work closely with industry leaders as well as the smaller, innovative, and rapidly growing companies in software, electronic commerce, medical equipment, biotechnology, electronics, and aerospace. Our programs draw from companies such as Microsoft, Boeing, Costco, Amazon, Expedia, Philips, and Starbucks. We also have a facility, the Eastside Leadership Center in Bellevue, WA. All faculty members in the School of Business should expect to teach at both the Bothell and Bellevue locations. We have a growing Finance club and our students have excelled in CFA research challenges and ethics challenges.

Qualifications

Applicants must have demonstrated teaching expertise in investments or financial institutions or international finance. Candidates should have demonstrated evidence of high-level proficiency in teaching finance courses independently at the university level.

A Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Finance or Business is required, and a Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in a relevant field would be a positive factor for consideration.
