Description:
  • The Facilities Specialist I, under direct supervision, assists in the management of facilities and related services and programs for Harte Research Institute. The position specializes in various aspects within the full spectrum from preventative maintenance to construction as well as services related to facility use (ie: audio/visual systems, building proctor, and after-hours emergency response. The position supports all aspects of a full-service facility management program to ensure a safe, healthy and comfortable work environment for employees and visitors.


Responsibilities:
  • Oversee that assets are maintained, inspected, and within safety guidelines to ensure a clean and safe working environment. Maintain records of inspections, warranties. Manage scheduling for check-out or use of assets to work groups of HRI. Provide usage logs to Business Manager for billing purposes. Drive vehicles to get them inspected.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment. Oversee property transfers, acquisitions, deletions, and annual inventories. Responsible for off-campus equipment use permits. Follow protocol for stolen or damaged goods.
  • Assists with the coordination of and moves furniture, furnishings, and equipment.
  • Specializes in various aspects of a full-service facility management program (ie: audio/visual systems, online reservation processes, event coordination, mechanical systems, etc.).
  • Inspects, tests, installs, adjusts, and maintains devices, control instruments, mechanical and electrical equipment, and related parts.
  • Coordinates or performs basic repairs to buildings and infrastructure. Inspect HRI building on a regular basis and coordinate with SSC to ensure any identified issues are addressed. Arrange work orders for upkeep of the building. Follow up to ensure work order is completed.
  • Initiates purchase orders for parts, supplies, and equipment.
  • Serves as secondary contact for after-hours building emergencies. Must be able to promptly respond in person, on site, to after-hours building emergencies.
  • Assist with field work as an additional hand. Assist with aspects of project events including, but not limited to, pre-event meetings, event setup and tear down, visitor transportation, and facility oversight and management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Additional experience may be used as a substitution for the minimum education requirement:
    • Associates degree and 2 years of related experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors under a variety of weather conditions.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to work outside regular business hours and weekends as needed.


Salary:
  • $2,780.17 - $3,333.34 Monthly ($33,362 - $40,000 annual)
