The Department of Art, in the School of the Arts and Architecture at UCLA, invites applications for a tenure/tenure-track (full/assistant/associate) position in painting and drawing. The candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate art students in the area of painting and drawing, with an emphasis on contemporary studio practices. We are seeking candidates who will actively contribute to the Department and University in creating a community of students, staff, and faculty richly diverse in cultural backgrounds, experiences, and viewpoints. We are actively encouraging assistant-level applications.
Qualifications
- BA or BFA required.
- MFA preferred but not required.
- Distinction as an artist working primarily in painting and
drawing.
- Proven exhibition record and/or showing great potential for
active exhibitions.
- Demonstrated teaching skills.
- Ability to teach both studio and seminar courses.
- Expertise in the history and current practices in the field of
painting and drawing and in-depth knowledge of contemporary art
issues.
