Summary
The Department of Urology at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX is seeking a Research Administration Associate. This role will assist on the grants submission process and participate on the pre- and post-award management processes. The pre-award will be the primary focus and budgeting/post-award responsibilities will be a secondary focus. Amongst the key responsibilities will be successful submission of research grants, progress reports, and close out.
Job Duties
- Prepares grant and subcontract submissions internally (BRAIN) and externally (Sponsor sites).
- Contributes to the development and continuous improvement of the pre-award and post award grants management process. Review and analyze current protocols, faculty-staff communication, and quality of the submission process. May make recommendations for process revisions and implement changes as appropriate.
- Reviews and approves grant applications, certifying summary data in the College's electronic Biomedical Research and Assurance Information Network (BRAIN) on behalf of the department.
- May contribute to the preparation of budgets for grant quarterly/biannual/annual reporting purposes.
- Prepares financial reports and track research mission financials for department leadership review for financial performance of grants and contracts.
- Ensures compliance with all guidelines.
- Prepares outgoing subcontracts and review incoming subcontracts.
- Prepares grants budget as part of grants submission process.
- Work with the PIs to ensure timely submission of all required documentations.
- Assist on maintaining correct effort reporting.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree. Certified Research Administrator certification through the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) may substitute for the degree requirement.
- Two years of relevant experience.
