About the Department of Health Sciences: The Department of Health Sciences is part of a newly formed and strategically important Division of Health Sciences in the College of Nursing & Health Professions. This is an exciting time of development within the Department, Division, and College. In 2022, we will move into a new state-of-the-art building on Drexel’s main campus that will also house the College of Medicine. The Department of Health Sciences administers a large and expanding Bachelor of Science program for students pursuing careers in a variety of healthcare fields, many requiring graduate education. Common fields of study for undergraduates in the department are physician assistant, physical therapy, and exercise science. In-progress department initiatives include expanding the undergraduate research program, developing a health-focused exercise science major, and adding graduate programs in Health & Rehabilitation Sciences.
Job Summary
The Department seeks qualified adjunct faculty to teach lecture and laboratory anatomy and physiology courses. Gross anatomy lab experience is a plus. Experience with ADI physiology instruments is also a plus.
Essential Functions
- Teach anatomy and physiology laboratory courses
- Coordinate with course directors to ensure consistent delivery
- Design and/or implement supplemental exercises to support the lab experience
- Assist with teaching lecture courses
- Input lab grades
- Be available for communication with students via email and weekly office hours
- Laboratory set-up and clean-up
- Minimum of a M.S. or equivalent degree in relevant field
- Laboratory teaching experience
- Online learning management systems experience (Drexel University uses Blackboard)
