Job Summary:

The Drexel University School of Education is seeking an Assistant Clinical Professor and experienced clinician to join our School Psychology - Education Specialist Program. The successful candidate will support teaching cognitive, adaptive and achievement assessment courses, and will participate in the development of a psycho-educational clinic. Course instruction includes cognitive assessment, adaptive and social-emotional assessment, and academic achievement. Additional courses may include multi-cultural competence and early childhood development. A strong understanding of behavior analysis, and integrating behavior analytic interventions with a strong emphasis on early childhood development.

In addition, this faculty position requires the faculty to be engaged in clinical evaluations and supervising students through the psycho-educational evaluation process for special education classification. The successful applicant will have experience or familiarity with administering and interpreting an array of assessments across multiple domains, including measures of cognitive ability, adaptive behavior, social-emotional behavior, achievement, and developmental measures. The successful candidate will also possess strong consultation skills and have knowledge of evidence-based behavioral interventions and their application. In addition, the successful applicant will have exposure to or experience administering the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule – Second Edition (ADOS-2). However, extensive experience in ADOS-2 administration is not a requirement as training can be provided through the position. The applicant should have experience integrating information and composing psychological reports that are appropriate for use by caregivers and local education agencies. Additionally, the applicant will possess the ability to provide sensitive, thoughtful, and supportive feedback to parents as well as the ability to work well with team members, parents, young children, and service providers in the community.

Essential Functions:
  • Teach an array of assessment courses and supervise students through the education evaluation and classification system
  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations for children at risk for school failure. Includes administering assessment measures, scoring, interviewing parents and/or other informants, interpreting results, conceptualizing cases, recommending appropriate intervention, writing comprehensive reports, and giving oral feedback to parents
  • Supervise less experienced clinicians and undergraduate and graduate students in assessment and/or intervention
Required Qualifications:

Education: PhD in School Psychology

Discipline : School Psychology

Experience : Course instruction, psycho-diagnostic assessment for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities, strong multi-cultural competence as a clinician and have experience working with families and clients from diverse backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications:

PA licensed/certification or license/certification-eligible

National or Pa state certification in school psychology

Exposure to or experience with the ADOS-2

Experience teaching graduate students, online and in-person

2-5 years experience as a school psychologist

Experience teaching graduate courses in-person and online
