With over 24,000 students, Drexel is one of the fifteen largest private universities in the United States. Drexel is one of Philadelphia's top-ten private employers, and a major engine for economic development in the region. Drexel has committed to being the nation's most civically engaged university, with community partnerships integrated into every aspect of service and academics.

The university has launched many university-wide research initiatives involving the LeBow College of Business, most notably the recent partnership with Brandywine Realty Trust to develop a unique "knowledge community" known as Schuylkill Yards. This will include approximately 5 million square feet of facilities for a variety of academic, commercial, and cultural projects.

Drexel University has strong ties to the Philadelphia business community, particularly through cooperative education in the undergraduate curriculum. Many Fortune 500 companies have headquarters in the Philadelphia metropolitan area, and the large number of regional, national, and global enterprises ensures a vibrant entrepreneurial community.

The Department of Decision Sciences & Management Information Systems - Lebow College of Business

The Department of Decision Sciences & MIS is a diverse group of scholars whose expertise extends across business analytics, management information systems, operations management, and operations research. Research from the department has been published in high quality journals such as Information Systems Research, Journal of Forecasting, Journal of Marketing Analytics, Management Science, Operations Research, and Statistics and Computing. Members of the department also serve in prominent editorial roles at research journals and are generally active in academic societies.

Business Analytics is one of the strongest programmatic areas at the LeBow College of Business. Our MS degree is the largest graduate program at the college, and the undergraduate co-major in Business Analytics is also very popular. We offer a PhD in Business, which allows a specialization in Operations and Business Analytics. The majority of recent doctoral graduates from this specialization have secured research faculty positions at other academic institutions in the eastern United States. Additionally, LeBow features the Center for Business Analytics as one of four academic centers at the college. These centers serve to bridge academic research with industrial practice.
