Chemical and Biological Engineering (CBE) at Drexel boasts a total of 12 faculty members including one PECASE and 10 NSF CAREER award winners, one ONR Young Investigator, and one Fulbright Fellow. Research activity falls in four principal areas: Polymer Science and Engineering, Multiscale Modeling and Process Systems Engineering, Energy and the Environment, and Biological Engineering.

Job Overview
Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering (CBE)
The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering ( https://drexel.edu/engineering/about/employment-opportunities/faculty-cluster/chemical-and-biological-engineering/ CBE) at Drexel University invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the level of Assistant Professor. The search is open to candidates with research expertise in the general area of biotechnology, including biomanufacturing, pharmaceuticals, systems biology, and/or cell biology, as part of not only the College of Engineering’s Cluster Hiring Initiative in the area of health, wellness, and medicine, but also a University-wide faculty hiring initiative around cell engineering and gene therapeutics.
Essential Functions
- Teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels
- Advise PhD and MS students
- Service to the college and/or university
- Establish/maintain strong sponsored research
- PhD or Doctorate
The successful candidate should have a PhD in Chemical Engineering or a related field by the September 1, 2022, start date, demonstrated excellence in academic research, and a strong commitment to teaching and advising undergraduate and graduate students.
