The Otolaryngology Department is seeking aBusiness Services Analyst who will be responsible for the day-to-day activities and tasks assigned to support Head and Neck Cancer program for the Department of Otolaryngology. The successful candidate is responsible for the technical maintenance of the application and complex, department related, problem resolution. Serves as the functional system expert, developing problem-solving strategies, investigating unique/first time instances of system problems, and working with faculty and Administration to optimize Epic functionality for Otolaryngology users. Work with head and neck cancer center patients, staff, administrators and faculty to improve the patient experience.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Identifies, develops and implements enhancements of data related to head and neck cancer within The Department of Otolaryngology clinical areas.
  • Evaluates clinical workflows and partners with Faculty and staff to design solutions in Epic, in clinic flow that will address identified challenges.
  • Proactively identifies issues and solutions whenever possible.
  • Provides additional on boarding and professional maintenance training to head and neck MOCs.
  • Provides operational support for head and neck cancer program by providing status on requests, prioritizing tasks or working with management.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for the Head and Neck division, and train staff accordingly.
  • Configures and modifies clinical documents, exam elements, and other relevant aspects of Epic to best meet the end-users’ needs.
  • Defines, runs and creates reports in Epic needed to assess billing, clinical and administrative performance in head and neck cancer.
  • Serves as an internal Epic training resource for head and neck cancer staff.
  • Work with senior leadership and department leaders to identify opportunities for improvement in using data to drive more informed and optimized decision-making

Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Finance.
  • 3 years of related experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree.

This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
