Position Summary:

The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs reports to the Dean and serves as a member of the Leadership Council of the College of Engineering. The leadership role includes developing and executing strategies to enhance

1. Undergraduate programs especially related to enrollment management, non-academic programs, and the overall undergraduate educational experience, and
2. Graduate programs especially related to graduate student professional development and well-being.

As an Associate Dean and member of the Leadership Council, the Associate Dean helps craft and implement the vision and mission for the success of the College of Engineering.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

An earned doctorate in physical, biological, or social sciences or related field is desired. Advanced degree required.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

The successful candidate will possess strong leadership, management and communication skills, proven commitment to fostering a culture and climate that is inclusive, welcoming and supportive of all, demonstrated commitment to excellence in student learning and outcomes at both the undergraduate and graduate level, a successful record of conflict resolution and management, the business acumen necessary to make strategic financial decisions, the ability to develop and implement a strategic vision for academic affairs and student services, and the skill to work as a member of a team in a shared governance environment.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated commitment to providing engineering undergraduate and graduate students with an exceptional learning experience and developing and implementing non-academic programs that enhance student learning and well-being.

Candidates must have a minimum of ten years of experience in leadership and management roles in areas relevant to this position.
