The Estakhri Research Group at Chapman University led by Prof.
Mohammadi Estakhri is searching for two outstanding and motivated
Postdoctoral Researchers who are interested in research in the
broad area of engineering and understanding light-matter
interactions at the nanoscale. Specific research areas of interest
are photonic metamaterials and metasurfaces, inverse optimization
and machine learning in nanophotonics, and theoretical
electromagnetics.

Qualifications
A doctoral or equivalent degree in electrical engineering, physics, optics, or related fields before the start date of the appointment is required. Deep understanding of electromagnetic theory and previous experience with EM simulation software is required. Familiarity with inverse optimization and machine learning methods is desired.
Responsibilities
The postdoctoral researcher will conduct independent research and/or collaborate on multiple research projects related to supervisors’ principal research on electromagnetic metamaterials. Primary responsibilities include 1- research, analysis, and manuscript preparation, 2- working with students, 3- contributing to dissemination of research outcome (e.g., conference presentations).
