Job Description: The School of Theatre at Louisiana State University invites applications for a tenure-track position, Assistant Professor of Sound Design and Technology, with appointment to begin in the spring semester of 2022.

 

Responsibilities: Teach courses in design and technology area and other courses assigned; supervise and mentor student designers and technicians; design and engineer for both LSU Theatre and Swine Palace mainstage productions, as well as supporting departmental needs including dance concerts, special events, and the LSU Lab Series; maintain sound inventory; maintain an ongoing presence working at the professional level in regional/national theatre; actively assist with student recruitment and participate in service activities pertaining to the mission of the Department.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Master of Fine Arts degree from an accredited program or equivalent experience.

Specific Experience:

Professional sound design experience, live reinforcement experience and current with technology in the field, including sound recording and editing software.

Preferred Qualifications:

Teaching experience at the Undergraduate level; ability to teach at the graduate level, music composition; and sound editing/mixing for film and TV. Experience using sound recording and editing software ProTools, Logic, Q-Lab, Vectorworks, and Dante Network Interfacing
