Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The College of Arts and Sciences is UNCW’s largest academic unit, awarding approximately three quarters of the university’s academic credits. It is a comprehensive arts and sciences college comprised of the arts, the humanities, the mathematical and natural sciences, and the social and behavioral sciences. The College’s twenty-five departments and units offer a variety of undergraduate majors and minors. Many of the College’s departments also offer graduate programs. In addition, the College is chiefly responsible for the curriculum that comprises the university’s Basic Studies Program, through which all UNCW undergraduates gain a foundation in the liberal arts and develop the transferable skills essential for life in the twenty-first century. Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The Business Services Coordinator assists with administering and coordinating business, fiscal, and administrative functions for the College of Arts and Sciences ( CAS ).
Core responsibilities include:
• Processing budget allocations.
• Department purchasing and purchasing assistance to CAS departments and units.
• Coordination of hiring packets.
• Processing travel and providing assistance regarding travel reimbursements to CAS departments and units.
• Preparing access request forms.
• Processing supplemental compensation through FLAC .
• Reconciliation of CAS accelerated program student billing.
• Management of CAS departmental administrative group and files through Microsoft Teams.
• Serve as the leave keeper for the College.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
- Four year degree in a related business function; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
- Minimum of two years experience with financial and budget management
