The West Virginia University School of Nursing is seeking applications for a full-time, Assistant Professor faculty in the Non-Tenure Track at the WVU Morgantown Campus. The faculty assumes the authority and responsibility for the evaluation of program and student outcomes and for managing the evaluations of program faculty at all campuses.

Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Providing leadership, in collaboration with the Associate Dean of Academics, Department Chairs, and Program Directors.
  • Formulating evaluation plans and procedures and associated policies in coordination with program academic leadership.
  • Assisting the Dean in formulating evaluation policies for the School.
  • Working with the Office of Student Services regarding outcome benchmarks, data, and recommended interventions.
  • Faculty development regarding student and faculty evaluation procedures, evidence-based assessment methods, and interventions to increase student achievement and program effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with academic counselors on all campuses regarding student outcome data analysis and recommendations to increase student success.
  • Prepare reports for the WVBOERPN, CCNE, and other external constituents.
  • Prepare reports for SON academic committees, the WVU BOG, and other internal constituents.
  • Document compliance with CCNE accreditation standards in collaboration with SON administrators and faculty.
  • Provide contributions in the area of teaching, service, and scholarship as negotiated with the Dean of the School of Nursing.
  • Submit an annual faculty evaluation and document progress in the areas of teaching, service, and scholarship.
  • Document alignment between contributions and SON FRPT criteria and University standards for faculty.
  • Demonstrate the prime requisites of teaching as outlined in WVU faculty policies.
  • Engage in scholarship activities consistent with Boyer’s Model of Scholarship (1990).
  • Attend all SON faculty meetings and the Dean’s retreat.
  • Serve as member of undergraduate and graduate curriculum committees.


This position reports directly to the Dean of the School of Nursing.

Qualifications :

Requirements include:

Master's degree in counseling, education, nursing or related field or equivalent experience. Higher education experience highly desirable, particularly in the areas of student evaluation. Doctoral degree preferred.

Preferred experience (Minimum of one year for all):

  • Database administration (ACCESS) and other computer processing experience
  • Data collection, analysis, and interpretation
  • Teaching experience
  • Report writing and presentation of collected data management
  • Progressively responsible work experience that demonstrates the ability to handle a variety of work assignments within a complex organization
