Since its inception in 1996, the Virginia Commonwealth University College of Engineering has brought innovative, real-world engineering education to Central Virginia. Comprised of five different departments plus the Dean’s office, the College of Engineering enrolls more than 1,700 undergraduate and 250 graduate students in several degree programs supported by approximately 600 full-time, part-time, and student employees. The Multiphase Flow Simulation Scientist will be responsible for the day-to-day activities required to support the research goals of a research lab.

Specifically, duties and flexibility include:
  • Computational fluid dynamics simulation for multiphase flow
  • Flexible working location, remote working possible for computational simulation
  • Part-time, non-benefited position limited to 25 hours per week; may later convert to full-time benefited position based on performance
Required Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with computational fluid dynamics is required
  • Must communicate effectively, have excellent proficiency in written English, and the ability to present and articulate complex concepts orally
  • Bachelors degree or Masters degree or a combination of education and extensive experience in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • Ability to establish priorities and to handle multiple tasks.
  • Familiarity with the research process and principles of research design required

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field preferred
  • Experience with multiphase flow
