Job Description:

The Coordinator of Accounting assists in the interpretation and implementation of federal and state laws and rules for the College’s financial accounting procedures and internal controls relating to the expenditure of restricted funds. Assists with review of grant proposals and restricted contracts. Supervises Accounting staff. Prepares various financial and related reports as required by the District Board of Trustees, grantors, and as mandated by federal and state laws. Prepares budget amendments and journal entries for appropriate adjustments to the College’s accounting records. Writes reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Meets with and is the liaison between accounting and Grant Director/staff. Reviews and/or prepares purchase requisitions, ad hoc transactions, travel authorizations, spend authorizations, and other related financial information. This position reports to the Coordinator, Restricted Accounting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.

Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.

SALARY RANGE: $35,000.00 - $42,500
