The Roberto C. Goizueta Distinguished Presidential Residence Program

The Cuban Heritage Collection (CHC) of the University of Miami Libraries seeks nominations and applications for the newly established Roberto C. Goizueta Distinguished Presidential Residence program that will welcome leading scholars and professionals from around the world, with expertise in a wide range of subjects aligned with the focus and scope of the CHC’s vast repository of materials and resources on Cuba and the global Cuban diaspora. Each Distinguished Presidential Fellow will be in residence at the CHC for a twelve-month period, overlapping with the university’s academic year. The first fellow will begin no earlier than June 1st and no later than August 15th, 2022. The Fellow’s main charge will be to conduct in-depth research on a project of scholarly or artistic merit based on a particular area or areas of the collection. The Fellow will also be responsible for developing programming that engages with the university and the greater public, including but not limited to delivering public lectures, organizing panel discussions, and/or performances.

SCOPE & ELIGIBILITY

Faculty, researchers, independent scholars, and non-academics (including visual and performing artists, writers, filmmakers, musicians, playwrights, etc.) who are recognized leaders in their respective fields will be eligible to serve as Distinguished Fellows. This program will create a global community of diverse and innovative thinkers, which will play a role in expanding the CHC’s academic programming, as well as advance its reputation as the premier destination for groundbreaking interdisciplinary research in Cuban studies. https://www.library.miami.edu/chc/index.html
