About the Opportunity:
Founded in 1922, the D'Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University offers a unique model of business education that purposely blends innovative classroom learning with real-world business application. At the undergraduate level, both the BS in Business Administration and the BS in International Business programs offer students the opportunity to develop into highly motivated business leaders. Graduate students and corporate learners can choose from several different certificate and full-time and part-time MBA and MS programs designed to enable motivated professionals to accelerate their success in business. The school is committed to embedding a global mindset into all of these programs, as well as in its research and outreach activities.

Responsibilities:
Program Support

The Assistant Director (AD) will work in partnership with the Senior Program Director (SPD) to sustain and grow programs. AD will collaborate with SPD in strategic planning and work with director to advise on program manager assignments. The AD will take a lead position on more complex program deliveries. The AD will provide training and support to program managers on less complex program.

Operation support

Help create budgets and participate in budget expenditure reconciliations with program managers for reporting to Senior Program Director. Budget Range is from $30K to our largest 1.3 million

Lead weekly program manager check-in meetings to keep all projects moving forward. Create program manager agendas with Director- lead discussions in weekly meetings program manager meetings.

External support

The Assistant Director will represent the Corporate Learning dept in public, key stakeholders and client partner meetings to support the organization's strategic alliances and partnerships. Travel may be required when face-to-face programs resume

Qualifications:
  • 3 -5 years of related experience and a Bachelor's degree is required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • Ability to interact effectively with high level corporate constituencies

  • Ability to interact effectively with faculty and senior level university administrators

  • Able to form and operationalize short- and long-term program and project plans

  • Fluency & comfort managing and working in a live virtual classroom setting

  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment

  • Ability to negotiate and execute agreements with vendors

  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

  • High level of proficiency with standard office software and an aptitude to quickly gain proficiency in new office software

  • Ability to manage to deadlines and work well under pressure

  • Willingness to work early mornings, evenings and weekends - at both on and off campus locations - as needed

  • Understanding of basic financial acumen

  • Previous experience in higher education a plus
