The Chemical, Biological, and Bioengineering (CBBE) Department
Chair is the academic and administrative leader of the
Department. The CBBE Chair reports to the dean of the College
of Engineering and is a member of the College's Leadership
Team.
The CBBE department chair, working in collaboration with the CBBE faculty and staff, is responsible for the success, relevance, and continued progression of the Chemical, Biological, and Bioengineering Department and the competitiveness of its graduates. Ensuring the vibrancy, operations, synergistic collaboration, and competitiveness of the department; and engaging CBBE's constituents in strategic actions for the academic unit, are important responsibilities of the CBBE Chair. The CBBE Department chair is also responsible for budget development, management and allocation; the assessment and accreditation of CBBE programs, and ensuring the relevance and execution of the instruction and research of the department. The CBBE Chair is also charged with promoting the Department through alumni, donor, and corporate engagement and ensuring the competitiveness of its graduates.
