Minimum Qualifications: 

Associate degree earned from a regionally accredited institution and two years progressively responsible experience in a higher education setting working in

Title IX, Equal Opportunity and/or Affirmative action with issues of equality and compliance, complaint investigation and mediation

Title IX, Equal Opportunity and/or Affirmative action with issues of equality and compliance, complaint investigation and mediation.

 

General Function: 

Coordinates, conducts, or assists with investigations, reviews, record keeping, training, reporting, budget management, grant management and data management pertaining to Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, affirmative action, and ADA violations

 

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:   

  • Comprehensive knowledge of applicable federal, state, EO/AA laws, issues, local employment regulations, and college policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply investigative and mediation techniques.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality statutes and policies as they apply to Titles IX, VI, and VII.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Ability to conduct research, analyze statistics, interpret policies, develop professional reports, and make presentations of reports and research results to Executive and management staff.
  • Strong computer skills, to include college database (Banner, Maxient) management, word processing, creating spreadsheets, e-mail, and the internet.
  • Knowledge of college administration, structure, policies, and procedures.

 

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

·         Supports the Executive Director of DEI (EDDEI) with or conducts assigned complaint investigations and prepares complaint or investigation reports including recommendations for corrective action when violations of statute, TBR policies or college policies relating to EEO, Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADAAA), Clery Act, Veterans

·         Accountability, and the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

·         Supports the EDDEI in coordinating and executing a diverse array of mandatory and voluntary diversity and awareness training programs for students and staff including, sexual harassment and discrimination, Title

·         IX, and best practices for recruiting and retaining a diverse faculty and staff .

·         Supports the EDDEI with Preparing required or requested State and Federal reports, including ombudsman and statistical, to the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Office of Federal Contract and Compliance Programs, Veterans Administration, Tennessee Human Rights Commission, and the Tennessee

·         Board of Regents and other stakeholders.
