Job Summary/Basic Function:
This position is self- directed and provides operational and clerical support to the program Director. Responsible for course set-up in Banner, maintaining program calendars and the scheduling of instructors. Rescheduling of classes and instructors as needed due to Law Enforcement demands. Maintain Academy files both electronic and conventional, conversion of written files to electronic. Coordinate with CE Registration on student registration and payments as well as with the Veterans Affairs office regarding student benefits through their Post 9-11 G.I bill. Data entry including the tracking and input of cadet scores, payments and grades. Manage financial requisitions, E-Pars and funds transfers between departments. Coordinate with University personnel and outside entities on the scheduling and renting of rooms at the Center for Continuing Education. Provide excellent customer service working with the public, cadets and other University Personnel. Analyze and create efficient and effective forms of communication between numerous internal and external entities. Utilize business concepts and business math to help determine costs for instruction and supplies. Provide direct support to future and current cadets. Serve as the primary department contact and respond to varied and non- routine inquiries. Implementation of new Director Program ideas. Assist in the hiring, training, supervision, scheduling and management of hourly employees. Work with outside law enforcement agencies, Utah Peace Officer Standards and Training as well as other outside organizations. As one of two direct liaisons with Utah Peace Officer Standards and Training, responsibilities include the following duties and collaborations at the direction of the Academy Director: Attend and co- represent WSU at quarterly Satellite Academy meetings, provide rosters with all required information, set up and prepare POST ID's for scheduled exams, depart cadets who leave or are dismissed from the Academy, trouble shoot areas of concern regarding cadet applications, assist in assigning lifetime POST ID's to cadets, maintain cadet records in POST databases, update curriculum requirements as mandated by POST, assist in POST investigations with needed documents and other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Three years full time related administrative and/or clerical experience.
Customer service experience.
Computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in law enforcement, courts or corrections. Notary Public or ability to become Notary Public. Working knowledge of Banner, Argos, eWeber and Microsoft office.

Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision: Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading.
