Randolph-Macon College, a private, co-educational liberal arts institution, invites applications for a full-time Systems Engineer for Email and Directory Services.  Reporting to the Manager of Infrastructure and Network Operations, this person will be responsible for administration of the College’s directory services (Microsoft Active Directory) and email and messaging platform (Microsoft Exchange). In addition to these skills, the successful candidate will participate in the daily operations of the College’s computing and server infrastructure. Candidate should possess knowledge of server virtualization in a Microsoft environment (Hyper-V).

Responsibilities:

  • Performs engineering and administrative duties for Active Directory, Exchange, ADFS, Azure Active Directory and maintains integrations with other third-party applications
  • Performs change management using standard tools. Ensures conformance and compliance with existing system standards. Measures performance to ensure proper operation.
  • Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems.
  • Maintain system documentation.
  • Trains technical staff on use of software/hardware tools in accordance with required standards and procedures.
  • Participate in afterhours critical production support as well as On Call rotational support.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field and 5+ years recent experience as a senior Microsoft Exchange administrator (minimum versions: Exchange 2016, Exchange Online), (Combination of relevant education and work experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
  • Experience securing and hardening Exchange / Exchange Online.
  • Experience with Domain Keys Identified Main (DKIM) and Domain-based. Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance (DMARC).
  • Experience with disaster recovery and high availability.
  • Proficiency with Windows server administration (2016 and newer).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Active Directory administration in a medium to large environment.
  • Knowledge of networking including IP addressing, subnetting, TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS.
  • Experience with Azure Active Directory, Active Directory Federation Service (ADFS), Exchange Online, Exchange Online Protection (EOP), Teams, and other O365 workloads.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to communicate efficiently and effectively.
