Randolph-Macon College invites applications for a Plumber Helper in the Physical Plant Department.  Reporting to the Maintenance Services Supervisor, the qualified candidate for this full-time, 12-month position is responsible for assisting the trades department with daily repairs, and performing preventative maintenance on all plumbing equipment, including but not limited to fixtures, piping, underground piping, and maintenance of the campus outside fountain.  Additional duties include assisting with boiler plant operations, repairs, general maintenance, and routine tasks as required. 

 

Position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 7:30am – 4:00pm.  The duties of this job are preformed both indoors and outdoors across campus and the work environment is subject to noise, dust, inspecting areas up to eighty feet off the ground, and other hazards.  Stair climbing and regular lifting/moving of materials up to 50lbs is required. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least one year of experience in the maintenance of plumbing trade is required. 
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a team player and independently.
