Director of Postgraduate Psychotherapy Center

JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Postgraduate Psychotherapy Center is responsible for managing all aspects of the Center's operations, as well as participating in various aspects of governing Postgraduate Programs, including but not limited to, the didactic and clinical supervision aspects of the Programs. This position requires up to 20 hours per week.

REPORTS TO: Director of Postgraduate Programs

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
  1. Referrals and clinical assignments:
  2. Monitor all incoming patient calls.
  3. Contact those seeking treatment and perform a Triage interview and establish patient fee.
  4. Assist those deemed not appropriate for our Center in finding other treatment options.
  5. Assign intakes to candidates.
  6. Assign patient referrals to candidates.
  • Didactics and supervision:
  • Supervise Postdoctoral Fellows
  • Conduct intakes with the candidates.
  • Run bi-monthly intake seminar for first year Adult Programs candidates and first- and second-year License Qualifying Program in Psychoanalysis candidates.
  • Run monthly group supervision.
  • Manage problems that may arise with patients that cannot be handled by the candidate or their supervisor.
  • Admissions:
  • Assist in all phases of candidates' admissions process.
  • Administration:
  • Monitor candidates' paperwork making sure intake reports and consent forms are up to date.
  • Oversee administrative assistant responsibilities.
  • Review patient fee collections and payments to candidates.
  • Governing Postgraduate Programs:
  • Serve as a member of the Postgraduate Programs Executive Board.
  • Serve as a member of the Board of Postgraduate Programs Directors.
  • Chair and/or be a member in various committees that review candidate's progress in the program and other program requirements.
  • Marketing:
  • Promote and help advertise the Center to garner more referrals.

  • EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
    1. The Postgraduate Psychotherapy Center Director must be a psychoanalyst.
    2. At least five years post-graduation from a 4-year psychoanalytic certificate program.
