Job Summary/Basic Function:
Wheaton College (Norton, MA) seeks to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biology to begin in Fall 2022 who is strongly committed to excellence in teaching, mentoring, and research in an undergraduate liberal arts college environment. The 3/2 teaching responsibilities include introductory biology, applicable core 200-level courses (Anatomy & Physiology, and/or Genetics, and/or Microbiology) and upper-level courses in the candidate’s areas of expertise. The successful candidate will play an active role in guiding the future of the Biology major and other related majors (Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Environmental Science, and Neuroscience), will maintain an active research program that engages undergraduates on multiple levels, and will complement existing strengths in the department. The Department of Biology includes 10 teaching faculty and is housed in a state-of-the-art LEED -certified science center.

been supported by an HHMI Grant for Inclusive Excellence in STEM . As a department focused
