Job Summary

The University of Colorado Boulder Law School encourages applications for an Admissions Coordinator ! This position provides a wide variety of administrative support for the office, such as: managing office supplies and department communications, event planning, and other administrative duties as needed. The Admissions Coordinator will communicate with a diverse group of external callers and visitors as well as internal contacts at all levels of the law school, including students, staff, and faculty. This position requires a dedicated professional capable of accurately and independently handling the variety of daily challenges (multi-tasking) inherent in a fast-paced, customer service environment. This position will set an example for prospective students and demonstrate in all interactions that the CU Law School is a welcoming and inclusive community of professionals.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Admissions Decision Processing
  • Retrieve and compile data regarding prospective, admitted, and matriculating students to maximize effectiveness of recruiting efforts.
  • Analyze admissions data as requested from query reports.
  • Review and process applications to the program daily.
  • Create training materials for and supervise work study students supporting admissions processing.
  • Prepare and disseminate all decisions (admit, deny, waitlist) via ACES2 and prepare packets for admitted students.
  • Process waitlist and withdrawal forms and respond to fee waiver requests via email and enter them into ACES2.

Office Management
  • Serve as “the face of the admission's office”, which includes answering the telephone, responding to applicant emails, addressing walk-in traffic, answering questions and counseling prospective and admitted law school students about law school.
  • Manage law school tours, campus information sessions and campus visits.
  • Ensure the front desk is staffed during regular office hours, which includes hiring, training, and supervising work study students and student tour guides.
  • Answer and/or route questions and communicate policies regarding admissions and then update/edit the admission's section of the law school website.
  • Evaluate and order supplies for the entire office, when needed.
  • Manage financial records.
  • Develop an organizational system for accomplishing all tasks in the time allotted.

Travel Planning and Booking
  • Book all recruiting forums/fairs and make all travel arrangements for all admissions office personnel in Concur.
  • Prepare and reconcile all travel reimbursements, and keep a current chart showing expenses related to all trips.
  • Ship and track all materials to each event, while maintaining appropriate amounts of materials.

Event Management
  • Manage all aspects of admissions office events, including outside vendor coordination, parking, goods purchasing, publicity via numerous channels, set up, creating and posting signage, and cleanup/teardown.
  • Prepare and supervise budget of expenses for all admissions office-sponsored events, and process event paperwork.
  • Decide how best to delegate event-related duties to work study students.
  • Ensure that events will have the proper amount and variety of food and beverage without going over budget.


What We Can Offer

The annual salary for this position will range between $44,052 - $45,328.

What We Require

  • Applicants must be a current Colorado resident to be considered for this classified state position.
  • Three years of related experience.
  • Education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.


What You Will Need

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of office technology (word processing, excel, internet, databases, e-mail):
  • Must be highly accurate, pay attention to details, meet deadlines, complete projects as have the ability to follow through.
  • Good judgment and independent decision-making skill, with the ability to prioritize projects and tasks.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential data.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to trouble-shoot issues as they arise.
  • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends.


What We Would Like You To Have

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Experience handling sensitive data and creating queries in a database.
  • Experience working in a higher education admissions or financial aid office.
  • Experience with ACES2, OnBase, Pardot, Salesforce, PeopleSoft.
