Salary and Terms: Probationary, full time position. Salary placement is based on evaluation of experience. MSUAASF. Range B. Multiple positions may be filled.

Position Description: The Assistant Athletic Trainer provides athletic training services for the athletic department. Promotes health, conditioning and physical well-being of student athletes; provides first aid; promotes injury prevention, and facilitates rehabilitation programs. The assistant is required to perform many of these duties without direct supervision.

Minimum Qualifications            

  • A Master’s degree in athletic training, health science, or related field required.
  • NATA-BOC Certified Athletic Trainer in good standing.
  • CPR and First Aid Certified
  • Demonstrated commitment or proven strategies for fostering a diverse and inclusive environment; demonstrated ability or proven strategies to teach and work with persons from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) years post-BOC Certification experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a diverse group of people.
  • Experience with acute and/or chronic injuries and rehabilitation.
  • Experience with Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) and/or manual therapy applications.
