Job Description
The Department of Business Administration (DBA) in the College of Business (COB) at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Worldwide (ERAU-W) welcomes applications for a 10-month Tenure Track position in business with a focus on enterprise risk management (ERM) if possessing a terminal degree or a faculty of the practice with a master’s degree and experience as described below.
ERAU’s Worldwide campus has an enrollment of over 23,000 students, delivering courses globally online, synchronously to both homes and classrooms, and face-to-face at over 130 locations. Embry-Riddle Worldwide earned the #1 ranking in 2019 for Best Online Bachelor’s programs from U.S. News & World Report. ERAU’s Worldwide campus is aligned with three Colleges: College of Business, College of Arts & Sciences and the College of Aeronautics. The College of Business has approximately 55 full-time faculty, 480 adjunct faculty and 8,000 students with sixteen academic programs.
The Department of Business Administration (DBA) is the home of the Masters in Business Administration in Aviation (MBAA), the Bachelor of Science in Aviation Business Administration (BSABA) and the Associates of Science in Aviation Business Administration (ASABA). There are approximately 1500 students pursuing degrees in the DBA. The department currently has 11 full-time faculty. Disciplines housed in the DBA include accounting, economics/finance, international business and marketing.
Job Duties: As part of the restructuring of three of our graduate degrees, the College has a need for expertise in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and another discipline in the COB. The primary teaching and curriculum development responsibility would be in the ERM arena. ERM specific qualification includes but is not limited to the following:
Qualifications
Minimum requirements: A master’s degree with at least 5 to 7 years’ experience in enterprise risk management in order to meet requirements to teach as professionally qualified at the graduate level. Additionally, academic credentials to qualify to teach in the previously mentioned disciplines housed in the DBA at the undergraduate level. Other business disciplines within the College (not DBA specific) will be considered.
Preferred requirements: Terminal degree from and AACSB or ACBSP accredited non-profit institutions. Demonstrated research potential through publications and/or pipeline that would include working papers or papers under review. Strong candidates will have accepted/published research in reputable academic journals and excellent teaching evaluations. Experience teaching web-based courses, participation in university committees or related community organizations. Experience in the aviation or aerospace industry is beneficial but not required.
Candidate must be a disciplined self-starter who has ability to work remotely and effectively use a variety of virtual communication platforms. Ability to work with others and collegiality is expected.

- Assisting with facilitating the definition of an organization’s risk appetite and tolerance in alignment with their organization’s strategy.
- Demonstrates abilities and success with assessing effectiveness and efficiency risk compliance programs.
- Experience designing and implementing data classification and mapping models based on organization’s requirements and regulatory requirements.
