Position Function
Maintain the successful day-to-day project operations of the Academic Project Support Office and the Digital Corps by making sure projects, staff, and the workplace are functioning effectively and efficiently to meet client demands, promote student success, deliver high-quality projects on time, and support the university.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university by the date of appointment. Or, in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree:
● Associate’s degree plus an additional combination of education or experience in project management equivalent to two years.
Or
● High school diploma or GED plus an additional combination of education or experience in project management equivalent to four years
Minimum Experience
At least two years of project management experience.
Minimum Other
Excellent communication skills. Interest or experience working with media and technology projects. The ability to quickly adapt and become familiar with university processes and procedures, and quickly establish a rapport and confidence among multiple university units and levels of the organization.
Authorization to work in the US
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Education
Preferred Experience
At least two years of project management experience in a higher education institution, creative agency, or similar organization.
Preferred Other
Familiarity with project management software.

Requires successful completion of a background check and education verification.

Job Duty
Evaluate the types of resources needed for APSO projects (including video, design, development, communication & user experience), and then analyze the availability of resources (personnel, equipment, etc.) that can be assigned to meet the objectives and goals of each project.

With the assistance of the Director of the Academic Project Support Office and key members of the APSO team, create detailed project plans outlining timelines, staffing, deadlines, deliverables and other resources required to bring every project to completion on time with exceptional quality, including detailed project objectives and project requirements.

Evaluate and implement project management tools (Basecamp/ClickUp, Slack, etc.) to promote communication and project success.

Provide leadership, training, and supervision to a small group of student employees who support the APSO /Digital Corps project management process.

Generate project reports/analytics for university-mandated reporting, to guide future project planning, and to assist in asset allocation. This includes tracking schedules/hours worked on select projects.

Monitor project costs, time allocation, and scope creep – as required – to prevent projects from missing deadlines or objectives.

As required, serve as a liaison with academic personnel throughout the University community for project guidance, updates, intake, etc.
