Description: The AnalytiXIN is an exciting initiative in Indiana focused on developing an ecosystem to connect university assets and talent to industry needs in the areas of advanced data analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The University of Notre Dame is looking to bring a leader to this initiative, also appointed as an open rank professor of the practice in the Lucy Family Institute for Data and Society, and is expected to have a strong background in working with Industry partners, collaborating with faculty and students, and developing and implementing use-cases that drive innovation and impact. This position will be largely based out of the Notre Dame Office in 16 Tech, HqO facility (“HqO: Where innovators and Indy converge”) in Indianapolis, as part of the AnalytiXIN space. By Industry and Academia working together to solve challenging problems, Indiana can ensure that it maintains a place where innovation and investment happens.

The responsibilities of this individual include:
  1. Coordinate and execute the implementation of the Notre Dame AnalytiXIN interface with the industry stakeholders in central Indiana, particularly the CICP companies.
  2. Be the key point person in the Indianapolis Office of Notre Dame for the AnalytiXIN initiative.
  3. Conduct workshops to elicit key industry challenges in digital, data science, artificial intelligence, and analytics capabilities, and develop collaborative frameworks.
  4. Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including students, faculty, and industry, to develop and implement impactful projects.
  5. Manage activities associated with the realization of Notre Dame participation in AnalytiXIN.
  6. Engage, organize, and collaborate with leadership and stakeholders in the operation of Notre Dame AnalytiXIN activities, including monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on development and operational activities.
  7. Manage and coordinate organization resources, including staff, space, materials, etc.
  8. Identify, implement, and manage change when necessary to meet goals and vision for the AnalytiXIN.
  9. Continuously engage with industry partners to ensure alignment and develop new project topics.


Qualifications:

  1. At least a Master’s Degree with specialization in analytics, AI, or data science. The Master’s Degree could be in disciplines such as computer science, statistics, operations research, or industrial engineering.

  2. 8-10 years of relevant Industry experience or academic experience in working with industry.

  3. Demonstrable expertise in helping lead and/or manage digital transformation journeys of organizations.

  4. Demonstrable experience in developing analytics/data science R&D roadmap.

  5. Project and staff management knowledge and experience

  6. Ability to work with large groups of professional leaders and diverse stakeholders

  7. Demonstrable experience in bridging academia and industry

  8. Excellent communication skills

  9. Diverse business and professional experience - roles and industry

  10. Proficiency in budget and resource planning and management

  11. Demonstrable experience in developing problem statements with a variety of stakeholders and translating those into realizable roadmaps

  12. Experience developing successful grant proposals would be an advantage.
