Job Description

EdPlus at ASU is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Manager, Customer Data Platform to join our high-performing team. Under the direction of leadership, this position is responsible for the implementation, scaling, and maintenance of the Tealium customer data platform (CDP). This position is responsible to ensure data standardization from both client- and server-side data sources. Regarding client-side data, this position is responsible for the tag management strategies across both the Google and Tealium ecosystems. In addition, defining and communicating the data-layer requirements across cross-functional teams are key components of this position. Ensuring that the CDP is accurately delivering sever-side data into the client-side environment is another critical component to enable downstream operations. Regarding server-side data, collaborating with the various data stewards over datasets which are required for the CDP is another critical component. Being able to lead complex conversations and clearly articulate requirements is essential to this position. It is critical for this position to have a clear understanding of various data to build complex audience segmentation logic and trigger necessary business and student support functions based on various audience logic. Furthermore, it is required to provide behavioral and audience insights via business intelligence utilities such as Google DataStudio and/or Tableau.

Salary Range

$69,212 - $90,000 per year; DOE

Essential Duties

  • Oversee the advancement of the university’s customer data platform.
  • Lead the tag management strategy and implementation within EdPlus and consult on how to scale best practices across other business units.
  • Articulate data layer requirements for all necessary web assets.
  • Work collaboratively will other teams, particularity development, QA, and user experience to ensure data analytics are built into user experience processes.
  • Maintain the CDPs visitor keyring and ensure accuracy of user identity.
  • Maintain all attributes and audience definitions. 
  • Monitor key events to ensure the CDP is performing properly.
  • Facilitate stakeholder requirements for audience segmentation request.
  • Ensure proper integrations from CDP to end-state platform for audience orchestration and activation.
  • Ensure data within CDP is maintained to support business intelligence initiatives.
  • Leverage business intelligence utilities to provide insights and understanding to individual, platform, and audience behaviors. 
  • Ensure data in CDP can be leveraged in a multi-cloud environment to support efforts in other cloud solutions, particularly the Google Cloud Platform.
  • Assume or coordinate other duties as assigned or directed.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five (5) years of related administrative/data analysis experience which includes three (3) years of supervisory experience, OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex teams and projects to achieve organizational objectives
  • Evidence of strong understanding of multi-channel attribution to see each channel’s value and importance along the user journey.
  • Experience in Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
  • Experience with Supermetrics.
  • Experience working with data within CRMs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within Google AdWords, Bing Ads, Facebook Ads, Linked in Ads, etc. to implement custom audience segmentation.
  • Evidence of proficiency in the Google Analytic 360
  • Evidence of proficiency in Google Tag Manager
  • Familiarity of the Google Marketing Platform
  • Evidence of proficiency in the Salesforce SalesCloud CRM data structures
  • Evidence of proficiency in client-side, behavioral data
  • Experience with the full Tealium customer data platform suite.
  • Evidence of a Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.

 

Working Environment

EdPlus at ASU is located at SkySong, the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center. The center houses a diverse business community that links technology, research, education and entrepreneurship to position ASU and Greater Phoenix as global leaders in the knowledge economy.

 

Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting or standing. Daily use of desktop or laptop computer is required. Ability to clearly communicate verbally in English, read, write, see, and hear to perform essential duties. Regular review of completed tasks.
