Position Details
The Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Texas
Christian University invites applications and nominations for the
position of Department Chair and Associate/Full Professor within
the Neeley School of Business. The successful candidate will begin
employment in August, 2022.
Description
The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate significant
accomplishments in both teaching and research in entrepreneurship
and/or innovation, as well as experience suggesting the ability to
be an effective leader as department chair. Primary
responsibilities will include serving in an academic leadership
role as department chair appointed by dean of the Neeley School, as
well as performing high quality teaching and publishing
entrepreneurship and innovation research in premier journals.
Collegiality and a demonstrated ability to work with others are
important. The teaching load and salary are competitive and
commensurate with qualifications and will be determined in
consultation with the dean.

The department provides an exceptional work environment, with

In recent years, the department’s programs have been ranked in the
top 25 by U.S. News & World Report, Princeton
Review/Entrepreneur Magazine, Forbes, and Business Insider. The
department’s primary academic programs include an undergraduate
business major and minor in entrepreneurship and innovation, and an
MBA emphasis in entrepreneurship and innovation. These programs are
supported by a number of co-curricular activities offered through
the TCU Neeley Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation,
including the Richards Barrentine Values and Ventures Competition,
Shaddock Seed Fund, Entrepreneurial Intern Scholars Program, and
Entrepreneurship Club. Our faculty regularly publish in, and have
editorial roles on, the leading entrepreneurship journals (e.g.,
Journal of Business Venturing, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal,
and Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice) and general management
journals (e.g., Academy of Management Journal and Journal of
Management).
School/College Description
The TCU Neeley School of Business is comprised of six academic
departments including Accounting, Entrepreneurship and Innovation,
Information Systems and Supply Chain Management, Management and
Leadership, and Marketing. The TCU Neeley School of Business has an
annual enrollment of 2,821 (2019-2020) undergraduate and graduate
students, 215 employees and 24,595 alumni. The Neeley School is
proud to be fully accredited by the Association to Advance
Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International) for our
undergraduate and graduate programs. In addition, our Accounting
department is among an elite number (less than 200) accredited by
AACSB.
TCU Neeley been nationally ranked in several outlets, including
31st by Poets and Quants in their recent rankings of Best
Undergraduate Business Programs. Careers and Employment
Opportunities was ranked at #10 in the U.S. and #1 in Texas by
Poets & Quants. TCU Neeley was ranked 15th in undergraduate
Entrepreneurial Studies in 2020 according to The Princeton Review
and Entrepreneur magazine. The MBA program has been ranked 45th in
the U.S. by The Economist, and 1st for MBA Faculty Quality. The
undergraduate supply chain program was ranked 14th in North America
and the graduate supply chain program was ranked 16th in North
America by Gartner. The Executive MBA program was ranked 18th in
the world, 8th in the U.S. and 1st in Texas by The Economist. TCU’s
accounting graduates regularly achieve the #1 CPA exam pass rate in
Texas. The accounting program was ranked 20th in the U.S. for
undergraduate programs and 21st among graduate programs of its size
by the Public Accounting Report.

ABOUT TCU
Founded in 1873, Texas Christian University sits on 299 acres
nestled in a primarily residential part of Fort Worth, just minutes

colleges, in addition to the John V. Roach Honors College and the

entrepreneurship or related area, demonstrate excellence in
teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels, have a record
of high-quality scholarship in entrepreneurship and innovation to
justify appointment at the rank of associate or full professor, and
possess excellent interpersonal communication skills including
verbal and written, active listening, critical thinking,
persuasiveness, advising, and counseling skills.
