Position Overview: Develop and implement recruitment and admissions strategies for incoming students (primarily freshman and transfer populations). Define and track enrollment targets and suggest approaches to achieving them. Direct recruitment and admissions staff and work with them to establish standards and effective processes. Resolve issues with internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate with other functions (registration, School administration, marketing, alumni relations) to develop integrated approach to attracting and retaining students.

Department Specific Essential Job Functions: Plans, supervises and implements programs to achieve established recruitment goals of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Develops recruitment strategies consistent with market trend analysis and forecasts for freshman and transfer student recruitment. Assist the Sr. Director of Admissions and Recruitment with the execution of strategies consistent with institutional goals. Supervises Admission Counselors and develops strategic recruitment plans including target audiences, territory management, communication, and participation in on and off-campus recruitment events and programs. Oversees the training of staff and student assistants, including all part-time and volunteer help. Contributes to the leadership and strategic direction of Admissions & Recruitment by assisting with the policy deliberations and implementations for the department. Provides guidance and direction for the department in the absence of the Sr. Director pertaining to recruitment initiatives. Contributes to the leadership and strategic direction of Admissions & Recruitment by assisting with the policy deliberations and implementations for the department. Function as the UCO Office of Undergraduate Admissions liaison to community organizations and educational institutions to develop and maintain relationships geared toward: developing access marketing and outreach plans for OKC metro area students; developing dual marketing and outreach plans with community college partners; developing and improving partnerships with middle schools to begin early recruitment; developing and improving partnerships with community organizations to assist prospective students to prepare for college early. Participate and maintain relationships with The Greater Oklahoma City Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Coordinate the workshop schedule and presenters for The Greater Oklahoma City Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Assist Department with Recruitment Efforts as necessary. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications / Experience Required: Bachelor's degree. Requires 5+ years of experience with leading planning, including program development and innovation, program prioritization, and assessment. Appropriate profession accomplishments and credentials.

Experience Preferred: Master's Degree. Familiarity with CRM Recruit.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports. Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments. Organizing and coordinating skills. Ability to analyze course prerequisites, certification, and/or curriculum/graduation requirements. Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information. Ability to develop and deliver presentations. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures. Ability to plan and evaluate programs. Program planning and implementation skills. Knowledge of student recruitment and retention issues. Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals. Skill in the configuration and use of computerized database programs.
