UW System Title: Assistant Professor
Start Date: January 6, 2022 Essential Job Functions
The Resch School of Engineering at the University of
Wisconsin-Green Bay seeks applicants for a tenure-track position in
Computer Science, with specific experience in cybersecurity. The
successful applicant will contribute to a growing Computer Science
program in conjunction with a new STEM Innovation Center, a
partnership with Microsoft, and an expanding Engineering
School.
The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to work in
a specialized cyber lab setting, engage students in undergraduate
research projects, and be involved in community outreach projects,
including STEM outreach activities.
This position includes the following responsibilities:
- Teach courses in the undergraduate Computer Science Program.
- Contribute to a collaborative online M.S. in Cybersecurity, specifically teaching courses related to Network Security and/or Software Security.
- Supervise capstone projects, independent studies, and internships.
- Advise students.
- Maintain a research program and produce scholarly contributions consistent with rank and the interdisciplinary goals of the institution.
- Perform scholarly activities consistent with rank.
- Perform institutional and community service.
- Contribute to the ongoing programmatic enhancement of the department.
The successful candidate will be expected to work inclusively and

- Earned doctorate in Computer Science, or closely related field, from an accredited institution. ABD candidates will be considered; however, an earned doctorate in Computer Science, or closely related field, from an accredited institution is a necessary condition for contract renewal. ABD candidates will be hired into a terminal appointment at the rank of Instructor with a rate determined at the time of hire. Upon degree conferral during the terminal period, the contracted appointment with the rank of Assistant Professor will be reinstated.
- Experience in teaching cybersecurity related courses and/or research experience for cybersecurity relevant areas
All final candidates must be asked, prior to hire, whether they have been found to have engaged in, are currently under investigation for, or left employment during an active investigation in which they were accused of sexual violence or sexual harassment. When obtaining employment reference checks, these same sexual violence or sexual harassment questions must also be asked. Salary Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
