Job Summary

The individual in this position will provide professional support to the Auburn Abroad Program office within the Office of International Programs and will report to the Assistant Director. They will be responsible for the following functions: (1) will be the primary coordinator for an assigned portfolio of colleges including Business, Engineering, Science and Math, Agriculture, Forestry/Wildlife, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Veterinary Medicine – to assist departments/program directors with administrative tasks needed to set up and run Auburn Abroad programs, (2) advising students interested in studying, researching, and/or interning abroad, (3) training Auburn Abroad student interns to become Auburn Abroad peer advisors (4) assist in reviewing the effectiveness of and in creating new Auburn Abroad marketing materials including website in collaboration with Auburn Abroad team and campus collaborators, (5) research and provide guidance for JEDI (Justice, Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion) activities for students and program abroad directors (6) on-site coordinator for one of the Pre-Freshman programs abroad run by the Office of International Programs, and other tasks as needed.

Essential Functions

Essential functions and skill areas include: providing guidance and support services for student and program directors, ability to adhere to policies and procedures, involvement processing grade reports for returning students, and to understand when to be flexible; create program abroad applications and brochures in Terra Dotta for programs within assigned colleges and to move student applications through the process. The successful candidate will also function as one of the liaisons to the Academic Advisors Caucus and be the advisor to the Global Tiger Peer Advisors ( GTPA ), a returning Auburn Abroad student group – part of the SGA (Student Government Association). Report and analyze Auburn Abroad data as needed. This individual also serves on the Office of International Programs, Auburn Abroad Crisis Management team, functions as 24/7 contact for international incidents on a rotating basis with other Auburn Abroad staff. Must keep up to date on Clery, Title IX policies and procedures as implemented by Auburn Abroad and Campus Safety and Security offices. Will conduct international site visits to AU programs and other international sites as designated by Director and Assistant Director and attend professional Education abroad meetings, as needed.

Candidates must have experience studying, living or working abroad; experience using Terra Dotta and Microsoft Office software such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; and the ability to effectively train others and multitask.

The successful candidate will need to have a valid United States passport and be able to travel outside the 50 United States.

Master’s degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field or additional years above the minimum work experience in a relevant field.

Knowledge of international travel and cultures; extensive experience in the education abroad field in advising students.

Familiarity with other software such as SmartSheet, Banner, Canva, and Prezi is a plus.
