The Data Specialist and Admission Representative will be responsible for assisting with maintaining an instance of Slate CRM that is current with all features and updates while reviewing and identifying technology solutions and best practices to complement and/or expand existing protocols. They will assist with monitoring, assessing, and maintaining data quality internally, and with external vendors. This position will also assist with file layouts, uploads, and data exchange with various external vendors in addition to data processing of transcripts, uploads, and daily database processes.

This position will have a non-travel admission territory responsible for recruiting students to Cornell College. This position will provide counseling and sharing of college information to prospective students and parents. This position conducts student interviews on campus, makes group presentations about the college; develops a recruitment plan with a focus on diversity recruitment; analyzes, reviews, and makes recommendations on student admission and scholarship applications; reviews and analyzes data for planning purposes; participates in the execution of on-campus events; participates as a team member in all aspects of the recruitment, selection, and admission of students in a goal-oriented setting.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree preferred. Three to five years of related experience is required.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze a situation and recommend/implement effective & efficient solutions
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented. Logical thinker.
  • Exhibit initiative and self-motivation, ability to analyze and identify issues and recommend solutions proactively
  • Work competently and efficiently while prioritizing work in a fast-paced changing environment with multiple and often conflicting interests; adhere to deadlines, be flexible and adaptable
  • Excellent customer service
  • Preferred 3 years of Slate experience
  • Preferred SQL knowledge

Knowledge of Microsoft tools: word processing, excel, data entry. Knowledge of general office procedures and the ability to use office equipment such as copiers and scanners. Ability to effectively communicate and interact professionally in a variety of situations (in person and on the telephone). Ability to maintain confidentiality. Fine finger movement is required for typing and word processing.
