POSITION DESCRIPTION
The University of California, Davis, Graduate School of Management (GSM) invites applications for a position in accounting at the assistant professor level (tenure-track). The GSM offers a Masters of Professional Accountancy (MPAc) and undergraduate accounting minor as well as highly ranked MBA and Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) programs. Teaching responsibilities will be in the area of financial accounting and may span across the MBA and MPAc programs. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. or expect to have completed a Ph.D. by the start of employment. Recent or soon-to-be graduates should demonstrate strong potential for engaging in innovative and impactful research. Experienced candidates should have a record of impactful publications or in-process research consistent with their experience. The University of California, Davis, and the GSM are interested in candidates who are committed to the highest standards of scholarship and professional activities, and to the development of a campus climate that supports equality and diversity.

Interested individuals should complete an online application using the University of California, Davis's RECRUIT system (recruit.ucdavis.edu). Application materials include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, research statement, teaching statement, diversity statement, evidence of research (sample publications, working paper, or dissertation), evidence of teaching effectiveness, and contact information for 3 references. Initial Application Due Date is November 15, 2021. Applications received after November 15, 2021 and before June 30, 2022 will not be considered unless the initial search process has concluded and the position has not yet been filled. This position will remain open until filled.

The University of California is committed to creating and maintaining a community dedicated to the advancement, application, and transmission of knowledge and creative endeavors through academic excellence, where all individuals who participate in University programs and activities can work and learn together in a safe and secure environment, free of violence, harassment, discrimination, exploitation, or intimidation. With this commitment, UC Davis conducts a reference check on all finalists for tenured positions. The reference check involves contacting the administration of the applicant's previous institution(s) to ask whether there have been substantiated findings of misconduct that would violate the University's Faculty Code of Conduct. To implement this process, UC Davis requires all applicants for any open search for assistant/associate/full professor to complete, sign, and upload the form entitled "Authorization to Release Information" into RECRUIT as part of their application. If an applicant does not include the signed authorization with the application materials, the application will be considered incomplete, and as with any incomplete application, will not receive further consideration. Although all applicants for faculty recruitment must complete the entire application, only finalists considered for positions with tenure or security of employment will be subject to reference checks.

At UC Davis, a Work Life program has been in place since January 2003. A group of Faculty Advisors for Work Life was established in 2007 to help publicize and inform the faculty about the programs, policies, and resources associated with work life/life changes. This group of advisors represents various academic units (colleges, schools, divisions) on the campus. The following summarizes the programs and updated UC policy. https://academicaffairs.ucdavis.edu/work-life

The UC Davis Partner Opportunities Program (POP) exists to support the recruitment and retention of outstanding faculty. More information can be found at https://academicaffairs.ucdavis.edu/partner-opportunities-program-pop
