The Summer Temp Student Worker for Liberty University School of Law will support the External Relations, Student Affairs, and Admissions teams by assisting with various administrative tasks and projects. The Student Worker will have the opportunity to work closely with Associate Deans and their staff while supporting the overall work of the School of Law.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: performing basic office duties, planning and executing events, setting up for meetings, performing receptionist duties when needed, running errands both on and off campus, and assisting other law school administrators as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Occasionally greets guests, potential students, and other constituents visiting the law school;

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS

Education and Experience
  • Current enrollment in Liberty University undergraduate or graduate degree program
  • Must be in good academic standing
  • Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously of a routine and complex nature
  • Strong ability to work with and learn a variety of computer systems; data management and digitization experience is a plus.

  • Possess communication skills needed to discuss and document research progress.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.

  • Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
Physical and Sensory Abilities
  • Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
  • Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building.
  • Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS

Work Environment

The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting. It is well lighted and the noise level is moderate.

Driving Requirements

Use of one’s personal vehicle may be required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
