An Installation Technician is responsible for installing,
repairing, upgrading, and maintain projects around the Liberty
University campus. Installation technicians prepare surfaces for
vinyl graphic installation which includes removal of previous
graphics and adhesives from a variety of surfaces with causing
minimal damage. They install graphics that include, but are not
limited to cut contoured graphics partial wraps, and full wraps,
plexi-glass, etc. on various types of surfaces, including, flat
walls, cement walls, brick walls, floors, windows, etc. An
Installation Technician must be able to think independently on a
job site and provide solutions to the Wide Format Coordinator for
issues that will arise with installations. The Installation
Technician has extensive experience in all aspects of wide format
output to include operating flat print, roll print, utilizing
knives, cutting tables, laminators, caldera software, and esko
routers. Producing rigid and roll signs and banners, custom
finishing including lamination, mounting, and trimming. They
properly utilize and maintain all department tools and equipment.
They have the capability to prepare large format signs, banners,
and display graphics for their installations. They are familiar
with finishing techniques and necessary information to prepare
items for installation of printed graphics. Installations
Technicians are creative and committed to quality, always paying
attention to details, consistently delivery outstanding customer
service, and able to function effectively in a fast paced
environment. They are responsible for consistently meeting
customers’ expectations while maximizing efficiency. They ensure
that the department as a whole achieves or exceeds projected
production goals and standards by completing each project in an
efficient and timely manner while meeting quality standards and
customer specifications.

6. Ability to operate powered and non-powered tools and equipment according to specified safety requirements
7. Ability to operate light hand tools
8. Perform finishing operations such as weeding, cutting, laminating, grommets and mounting of printed pieces to various substrates
9. Keeping work area clean and organized.
10. Ability to logically solve problems
11. Ability to accurately measure and place graphics prior to installation.
12. Team oriented, flexible, and focused on providing a high level of customer service
13. Ability to work overtime or travel when needed
14. Remains abreast of existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services and leading industry performance benchmarks
15. Other responsibilities as required on an as needed basis
Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies
A high school diploma or equivalent and well-developed communication and critical thinking skills are required. Three years' experience in commercial print bindery is helpful, some bindery experience is required. Effective communication both verbally and in writing. Ability to intuitively reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature. Handling materials, reaching overhead, kneel, stoop to conduct business. Required to operate in extreme weather conditions. Regularly required to lift 70 pounds or fewer and must have proof of a valid Virginia driver's license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required as periodic driving of university vehicles may be required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position.
