Description
The Energy-Economy-Environment (E3) Systems Analysis research group (https://e3sa.sites.clemson.edu) at Clemson University is hiring a postdoc to work on a Department of Energy-funded project: Fuel Cycle Fusion Innovative Research Engine (FC-FIRE, https://news.clemson.edu/fusion-energy-could-move-closer-to-commercial-viability-with-clemson-universitys-help/).
The postdoc will lead the E3 analysis task for the project and other duties as assigned:
- Conducting research to develop life cycle assessment (LCA) and techno-economic analysis (TEA) models of the fusion fuel cycle.
- Supervise graduate and undergraduate students working on the project.
- Assist with writing of quarterly and annual reports for the project to the Department of Energy.
- Attend project research meetings and provide updates to the team on research progress.
- Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses as desired.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: PhD in a related science or engineering field
- Minimum Experience: Experience in development of life cycle assessment models.
- Preferred Education Area: Science or engineering preferred.
- Preferred Experience: Experience with composite fusion energy systems would be beneficial.
