Job Summary
Guided by the Assistant Director of Testing Services, the Testing Services Specialist plays a key role in supporting the administration and operation of the university's testing center on the Statesboro Campus, dedicated to providing a seamless and positive testing experience for students and external clients. This role ensures the smooth and secure execution of both in-person and virtual exams, upholding the highest standards of integrity, compliance with university policies, and commitment to exceptional customer service. The Testing Services Specialist consistently exhibits service, collaboration, and excellence as championed by the Division of Enrollment, Marketing and Student Success.
Responsibilities
- Follow guidelines and test security standards set by testing companies, as well as the National College Testing Association (NCTA) standards, to maintain the integrity of all exams
- Complete mandatory certifications required by testing vendors to stay up-to-date on proctoring standards and test security
- Travel occasionally between testing centers and represent the department at university events
- Oversee and administer computer-based and paper exams, including university and vendor exams through both in-person and camera monitoring
- Ensure all exams are conducted securely, efficiently, and in full compliance with testing protocols and standards, including specific requirements set by campus faculty
- Assist with maintaining and updating the office manual and testing schedules, ensuring consistency and accessibility
- Coordinate with the Assistant Director to develop testing procedures, improve workflow efficiency, and address testing-related inquiries or issues
- Deliver exceptional customer service to all test-takers by addressing their questions proactively, anticipating any additional needs, supporting a smooth check-in process, and maintaining a comfortable, professional testing environment
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise before, during, or after exams, including technical problems for computer-based exams
- Record and report test scores, maintain accurate logs, and handle sensitive information in a confidential and professional manner
- Assist in generating reports related to testing activity, volume, and compliance to support departmental planning and assessment
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
Required Experience
- Two or more years of related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
Preferred Experience
- Experience with exam and certification administration
Proposed Salary
$20.71 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
